In October, Cinetech Australia opened Village Cinemas new Doncaster multiplex which has been declared as their ‘world’s best complex’ to date.

Cinetech Australia won the contract to supply everything from screen frames, drapes, loudspeakers, 35mm projectors, audio equipment and session display LCD panels.

“We have the unique advantage to provide the complete package utilizing the best quality equipment available while our competitors have to outsource other contractors to deliver a complete cinema fit-out” says Nick Perry, managing director for Cinetech Australia.

Village Cinemas Doncaster gave Cinetech the opportunity to specify and install a package that was going to deliver the ‘wow’ factor.

Regardless of whatever auditorium you are in, you will immediately be drawn by the ultra bright sharp images, and dynamic sound quality. “Even the smallest auditorium makes the cinema patron feel like they are in one of the grandest environments which is exactly what we were tying to achieve. Big sound in little spaces we like to call it!!” says Mr Perry.

Fit-out if the complex started in August 2008 with an opening date of October 16. Cinetech technicians spent months in advance designing and pre-wiring the audio racks, calculating screen frame measurements and masking design, designing the projector to automation wiring interface.

When the time came to go on-site the entire team was prepared and knew every detail of the job ahead. “When you are running films three weeks before the opening date you know you have done well” says Nick Perry.

On October 16, the complex opened to rave reviews. The technical aspect was not the only highlight for this new cinema. The design and decor is a significant departure from any ‘traditional’ past cinema design and has an element of class throughout.

Even if you are in a traditional cinema it feels like you are in Gold Class! The color scheme is breathtaking, with warm color tones in the foyers and the auditoriums.
